My dad learned the craft in a small Italian workshop. By the time he was 30, he could cut a hide blindfolded. In 1996, he opened Bottacci—a promise to make bags the way the old masters did.
I grew up playing with leather scraps on the workshop floor. Now I work beside him every day. He still cuts every piece of leather himself. I handle the stitching. Nothing leaves until we're both satisfied.

Why We're
In Australia.
This photo hangs in our workshop. Tuscany, 1998—two years after my parents opened the shop. Dad at the bench. Mum keeping the books. And me, not even two, playing with leather scraps on the floor.
Mum was Australian. She always dreamed of bringing the workshop to her homeland. When she passed in 2015, dad and I made that dream real. She had one rule before anything left the shop:
"Would you be proud to give this to someone you love?" — Mum
I still ask myself that question before every bag ships.
How Your Bag Is Made
Every bag passes through 47 steps. Here are the four that matter most.
Select
We reject 70% of hides. Only full-grain Tuscan leather makes it to our workshop.
Cut
Each piece cut by hand. Dad's cuts are within 0.5mm—every single time.
Stitch
Double-needle saddle stitch. 8 per centimeter. The way it's been done for 500 years.
Inspect
Checked twice. By me, then by dad. He's rejected my work more times than I'd like to admit.

Way better than I expected honestly
Took a chance on this because the price seemed too good. Glad I did. The leather is thick and has this nice rich smell to it. My sister has a Michael Kors and mine feels way more substantial. Hardware is heavy, no plastic anywhere. Came packed really nicely too. Will definitely order another one.

I'm so tired of buying bags that look good for 6 months then the stitching comes undone or the straps break. This one is built different. You can tell just by holding it. The zip alone feels expensive. I work in property so I carry a lot of stuff and this handles it no problem. Best purchase I've made in a while.
